It’s been a while since I’ve done a book tag so here I am bringing to you the Rapid Fire Book Tag! Now I have not been nominated by a fellow youtuber or blogger to do said book tag but it’s a fairly miserable day, I’m a little bored so here I am. The point of this book tag which was created by Kate at GirlReading is to answer “this or that” style questions as quick and “rapid” as possible. Sounds fun right? This is a great tag for us to get to know each other a little better so before I get started let me nominate some of you to join me in doing this tag because why not. I tag Stevie at Stevie’s Bookshelf and Casey from Adoptabookaus and YOU ^_^
Rapid Fire Book Tag Questions
E-Book or Physical Book?
Physical book always. I have never read an E-Book and I don’t plan to – E-Books are what will drive my precious books to their extinction 😦 Besides I need to hold a book in my hand and smell their pages.
Paperback or Hardback?
Both – I love the look and feel of Hardbacks but dang are they heavy! Paperbacks are a lot easier to read in that sense. Who needs weights when you have hardback beats like ‘Order of the Phoenix’, ‘Queen of Shadows’ or ‘Breaking Dawn’.
Online or In-Store Book Shopping?
Just like with the E-Books, In-Store book shopping always. I will admit I often have to use Book Depository because I want the US cover or the book I want isn’t available off the shelves but nothing, I repeat nothing beats wondering the hallowed halls of your favorite book store and hand picking your perfect copy.
Trilogies or Series?
I love both but I prefer series – I get to spend more time with my favorite characters! I mean imagine if J.K. Rowling only gave us three ‘Harry Potter’ adventures!
Heroes or Villains?
Heroes all the way!
A book you want everyone to read?
Hmmmm… Anything by Sarah J. Maas. Now I know that everyone reads Maas’s epic fantasy novels but my best friends have still yet to venture forth on the epic travels that are ACOTAR and TOG (!?!?!?!) Every second of my life I a shoving the books in their faces and screaming for them to try Feyra or Celena’s worlds.
Recommend an underrated book?
Dragonskin Slippers (or Dragon Skippers if you live in the US) by Jessica Day George. This book is one of my favorites and I have read and re-read it more times than I can remember.
The last book you finished?
A Torch Against the Night by Sabba Tahir. This. Book. Was. EVERYTHING.
The Last Book You Bought?
I just bought Vampire Academy, Frostbite and Shadow Kiss by Richelle Mead as well as the US hardcover editions of Throne or Glass and Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas.
Weirdest Thing You’ve Used as a Bookmark?
One of my little brother’s Pokemon cards.
Used Books: Yes or No?
Yes and No. I am a freak about the condition of my books but I do admit that I do love broswing through used book stalls and old second hand stores. Who knows what treasures you could find? First edition ‘Harry Potter’? Um yes please!
Top Three Favorite Genres?
Fantasy, Historical and Paranormal 🙂
Borrow or Buy?
Buy – always. (Sorry bank account!)
Characters or Plot?
Characters though I do love plot too but characters feel so real. They becomes so important to you as you follow them through to hell and back. You see yourself reflected in them, you learn and grow with them. Need I say more?
Long or Short Books?
Both. It really depends on the book and genre I’m reading. Books like ‘Twilight’, ‘Throne of Glass’ and ‘Harry Potter’ I can just never get enough of and then others are better short and sweet.
Long or Short Chapters?
Again both. It really depends on the book and the characters.
Name The First Three Books You Think Of…
‘Twilight’ (sorry guys I’m currently reading it so it’s on my mind) by Stephenie Meyre, ‘Shadow Kiss’ by Richelle Mead because THAT ENDING and A Torch Against the Night by Sabba Tahir.
Books That Makes You Laugh or Cry?
I love a book that makes me feel. Whether that be laughing, weeping, cheering – whatever the emotion a good book makes you feel and I love both pain and joy.
Our World or Fictional Worlds?
Fictional Worlds all the way! Whether they be complete and utter new worlds like Prythian, Middle Earth or Mystica or parallel universes like the Wizarding World and even dystopian futures like Panem. I read to be taken to new sights and whole new worlds with different rules. I live in the real world so I want something new 🙂
Audiobooks: Yes or No?
Not really. I can’t say no because I’ve never really tried one.
Do You Ever Judge a Book by its Cover?
Okay anyone who answer’s no to this question is lying. To an extent we all judge a book by it’s cover. If a cover is unique and beautiful of course it will jump out at us and of course we’ll be intrigued. I also am a huge fan of beautiful book shelves so I will buy a book just because I can’t stop glancing at the cover or because I know it will look amazing next to another.
Book to Movie or Book to TV Adaptations?
Both. I do love movie adaptions because not only am I an actress and a huge movie buff but I love the level of development a TV adaption can bring to a beloved character or plot. Their’s just not enough time to explore all aspects and motives in a film but with TV we can delve deeper into these beloved worlds.
A Movie or TV-Show You Preferred to its Book?
Pride + Prejudice + Zombies. Not only was it an amazing film but It took a different direction to the book towards the end and I seriously loved it.
Series or Standalone’s?
Series all the way. I mean, don’t get me wrong – I love a good standalone novel as much as the next girl but I love to see how character’s developed over the course of a long journey. Seriously – who else would love to see an Amy and Rodger’s Epic Europe Detour?!?! Um yes please!
